EARLY IDEATION OF TEXTURE
Gathering different objects and making patterns through their impressions on the surface. This was created by a paint tube being rolled across Bristol paper.
FORM CREATION
From there, I moved to create a six inch relief out of Bristol paper, showing what a section of the form looked like if it were to be done out of stacked paper. The result is similar to a topographic map
EXTENDING TO TWELVE INCH FORM
Wanting to show even more detail in the form, I created a larger relief work of the same pattern with more depth and accuracy based on the painted texture. About 15 layers of Bristol cut-outs were used to achieve this.
FINAL PATTERN TO TEXTURE FORM
My original form felt too structural so I added cutouts and moved the walls in around the triangular sides. The dimension of the project is approximately 12 x 7 inches and used over a whole pad of Bristol to complete.
